The Original Langoustine, or Dublin Bay Prawn, is a small lobster
like crustacean found mainly in Northern European waters. Fresh, they are one of the most
delicious and highly prized seafood. They look like large shrimp with two long claws which
are about the length of the body. The color is orange-pink and the flesh is very white
when cooked. There are similar, but technically different variations found in Brazil,
South Africa and East Africa. While they are quite good, this True Langoustine is regarded
as the best. Our Scottish Langoustines are harvested Wild and Live and immediately shipped
via air. The mortality rate is high, but unlike Lobsters, fresh dead
langoustines are expected and of uncompromised quality & safety. This is how they are
sold throughout Europe. |
